TLC's new shows - "Jon Plus 4" and "Kate Plus 4"

I loath to admit it, but I have been known to watch the show "Jon and Kate Plus 8" on occasion. My wife, who will watch any show that involves people with multiple births or little people, has convinced me that the show is okay to watch because it is based in Reading, PA...which is close to where Angie's Wedding was. I know, it is twisted man logic, but it is what I do to explain away my watching it. Now, I just need a way to justify my love of Gilmore Girls.

Anyhow, part of the reason I watch the show is not because the kids are cute or because I like to see them go on trips to Disney. No, it is much deeper than that. I was waiting to see how long it took for the two of them to self-implode. There were two things that I noticed from the start:

1. Kate belittled and railed on Jon - Now, let me preface this by saying that it must take a special person to handle all those kids at once. I bearly have a handle on the little one's I have. However, Kate never treated Jon like a partner in this show. Not once, at least that I ever saw. She scolded him. She belittled him. She tore him down.

Boys have a tender little thing called an "ego" that can get them into trouble when it is not properly cared for. If it is, they will be like loyal dogs who would protect their master from a raging bear or cougar.

Kate took Jon's ego and stomped on it...several times...in front of millions.

Now, while I cannot condone adultery, I can see where Jon could be swayed by some cute little chickey who might show him some attention. Lamb to the slaughter.

Anyhow, that leads me to number 2...

2. Jon took it - Conflict is a tricky thing. If you confront it, it often leads to a double heaping of conflict and that can be taxing. However, to not confront it leads to resentment and bitterness. Not confronting it is like finding out you have cancer, but not treating it. Just let it eat you up.

I'm just saying. Jon allowing Kate to treat him that way, gave her license to do so.

One more thing that bugged me. They said that they were both in it for the kid. What? If you were in it for the kids, you two would talk it out, treat each other with respect, and realize the best thing to do for the kids would be to love one another.

As near as I can tell, outside of having a whole lot more diapers to change in a short period of time, they don't deal with anything interpersonally different than the rest of us. Jon, say you were wrong and beg for forgiveness. Kate, apologize to Jon and beg for forgiveness.

Or call it quits. I really don't care, but don't try to convince us you are in it for more than the money and fame, even though you said you didn't sign up for the scrutany...*sigh* "I'm in it for the kids" Idiots.

Maybe TLC should force them to get some professional help. Better yet, maybe they should take some time and see how the Dugger's do it and they have almost twice the kids.

I need to know how to do it!!!

Things have been slow here at work...which is good, but I just cursed myself with multi-agency dispatches with hard to find addresses by just saying that...Anyhow, I have been doing some searching the web for writing resources. I have found quite a few good articles for writing, especially when it comes to fantasy works.

This is not the purpose of the post, but this was one of the links I gleaned about something I know nothing about...Horses

Anyhow, back to the point, I found a cool little site that has lots of information and some interesting information. It is called eHow. Go check it out and search out your interests. I have been watching video on how to write fantasy, grilling, and photography.

I'm hoping for some poker advice...*sigh*

LOST predictions sure to be wrong

I will be watching LOST from work tonight in the vain hope that no one will call during the two hour season finale. So, before we have a few questions answered and left with even more questions, I wanted to make a few predictions that I am positive will make me look stupid. However, half the fun is speculation and theories. Here goes:

1. John Locke is Jacob - I'm torn on this one because for a long time, I believed that John was Jacob, but recently, there have been some things that have thwarted my theory. The number one reason is that there has been a actor hired to portray Jacob. Then there is the fact that Jacob has hair...which has led people to surmise that it might be Saywer. Anyhow, the most recently, I have read that people believe that it was the captain of the Black Rock...though, based on last weeks extreme close up of Richard Alpert working on a "ship in a bottle", I think he could be the captain...which kills my Richard Alpert is RA theory. Well, that was several of my theories wrapped into one...so maybe one will be right. With that said...John is going to kill himself, which will probably lead to him being trapped...ouch...aneurysm....

2. Hurley is carrying the guitar case because Charlie convinces him to get back on the plane and to bring his guitar.

3. Sawyer is, ultimately, going to choose Kate over Juliet, but that choice will be predicated by Juliet's death - From the moment Kate showed back up in 70's Dharmaville, I knew that the domestic bliss that Sawyer/Juliet shared was gone as quickly as it takes to say, "Hello, Freckles". Combine that with a health dose of ironic foreshadowing that takes place between the two on the sub and the fact that the actress who plays Juliet has been picked up for a series - the remake of the classic 80's series "V". I am sad at this loss because I like the pairing and I really do not care for Kate...never have.

4. Jughead was placed underground by Smokie - How else is that bomb going to get into an underground temple? Certainly not through the "underworld" water passage that Jack and the others swam through. You didn't think that Jack's comment that "it went farther than he expected" was an offhand comment did you? Oh Jack, you have went a whole lot further than you know and we will see that tonight.

Well, that is it for my predictions sure to be wrong. What about you? What do you want to see answered and what are your predictions? What does lie in the shadow of the statue? Where are Rose and Bernard? (I think we have seen them in a cave). Why is Jack being such a baby...*sigh*...only 2.5 hours till we find out just how wrong I am!
